When low: Low OmegaCheck values (<4%) are associated with increased cardiovascular risk, higher rates of sudden cardiac death in epidemiological studies, elevated triglycerides, and a pro-inflammatory physiological state. Low values may also be associated with suboptimal cognitive and mood-related outcomes in some research contexts, though causality has not been firmly established.
Omega-3 status supports cardiovascular health and may aid recovery by modulating inflammation and platelet function—relevant for endurance athletes and those prioritizing aerobic efficiency. However, this is a general wellness marker rather than a performance-specific tool; it reflects dietary adequacy over weeks, not acute training adaptation.
