This test screens for Chlamydia trachomatis (CT) and Neisseria gonorrhoeae (NG), two of the most common sexually transmitted infections. Early detection allows prompt treatment and prevents serious complications like infertility, chronic pelvic pain, and increased susceptibility to other infections.

Not specifically athlete-relevant from a performance standpoint. However, STI screening supports overall health and recovery—untreated infections can cause systemic inflammation, fatigue, and reduced training capacity. Routine screening is part of general preventive health maintenance for sexually active individuals, regardless of athletic status.
